The Wayfarers

Clan Gangrel tend to compose the most isolated of the Kindred. The Gangrel are savages, so close to the Beast that when they lose themselves to it, it leaves its mark upon them. Gangrel tend to wander the wilderness, sometimes forming close-knit groups or Packs in, around, or near cities. The Gangrel share one great passion: a great disinterest and even disdain for all things political.

The Beast

As a whole, the Gangrel seem to have a very close connection with their Beast. While some Kindred want to hide their true nature or even flat out live in denial, the Gangrel generally embrace their inner instincts in a more animalistic way (sometimes even going so far as to carry physical traits that personify what lies within). Though many fellow Kindred view this as a weakness, the Gangrel use this connection to their advantage and can be a formidable foe. That is not to say they continually indulge their Beast like a Brujah indulges their passions, though; in most cases Gangrel (at least those among the Camarilla) are disturbed by a Gangrel who has taken on many animalistic features as it is a sign of indulging the Beast rather than being a master over it, and thereby being weak and naturally, their weakness is exposed physically by the Clan's weakness itself having inherited those animal-like features on their body. This often explains why many Gangrel, despite possessing an intensity, also have a counter-balancing calm or at least flippant-nature to them as they do not want to indulge the Beast, and rather as stated previously, hold a sort of "mastery" over it keeping it under their thumb or some modicum of control.

Politics

To put it bluntly, Gangrel do not like politics. Generally, their political structure (if you can call it that) revolves around a pack mantality and often times survival of the fittest is law; quite literally fighting is communicating and negotiating for the Gangrel. On the other hand, many Gangrel also follow the "lone wolf" way of life. A political position or political title, like within the Camarilla, is generally viewed as a "suckers" position within the pack; while Gangrel amongst the pack will admire one who does hold such a position, it is generally out of a kind of gratitude so they themselves do not have to do it as political positions are not something worthy of a warrior. However, it is also not surprising to see them hold such positions within the Camarilla such as Sheriff, Deputy, or even among the fabled Scourge, as Kindred often make more entertaining prey to hunt than mortals. Their closest "allies" often being the Brujah, albeit, whenever a cause, task, or mission is completed they (Gangrel) often feel it best to sever ties then and there, rather than be drawn into the Brujah's bestial passions as not to over-indulge their (Gangrel's) own Beast inciting the Clan weakness within them.

Player Note: Gangrel vs. Ravnos

The Gangrel have a deep rooted and long living hatred of the Ravnos gypsies. While most Gangrel do not remember the direct cause of this feud, the venom remains. Many theories and rumors surround the beginnings of contention, but thus far information regarding the truth of the situation remains unknown. Gangrel generally hate Ravnos, whether they know why or not.

The fact that St. John's isn't caught in constant civil war (even with the high population of both Ravnos and Gangrel) is still a conundrum to both Neonates and Ancillae alike.
