The Fallen
Once, the Brujah were philosophers, knights, and barbarian princes. Once, the political might of the Brujah was second only to their reputation as fiery and passionate champions of causes. Once, the mighty empire of the Brujah spread from Carthage to rival even Rome in power, and dwarf it in influence. Tonight, Carthage is destroyed, the Ventrue are the undisputed masters of the Kindred, and the Brujah are dismissed as temperamental, rebellious children, crowing over past victories and lashing out at anything that gets close enough to lay a fist on. Now known to most as Rabble, the Brujah exist largely as close-knit - if chaotic - manifestations of passion and violence. Despite their rebellious nature, the Brujah were one of the founding clans of the Camarilla, and they have remained a pillar of that sect throughout its history; it is because of this their resentful outbursts are largely tolerated by their conquerors.
Passion
Often regarded as short-tempered and emotionally stunted Kindred lacking the basest of control over The Beast in moments of contention, the truth of the matter is that it is the Brujah's passion that makes this clan a foe to be reckoned with. Blind fits of rage - which leave a trail of destruction in their wake - being the clan's hallmark, they are the brute warriors amongst the Kindred and those who are foolish enough to stand in an enraged Brujah's way probably deserve what's coming to them. This rage, a perversion of the clan's fiery nature caused by their conquest and subsequent taming at the hands of the Ventrue, is, ironically, the force behind the very brutal nature that makes them so useful to their Patrician brethren.
Politics
The Brujah of today tend to have an "us-against-them" survivalist mentality, helped, no doubt, by the short straw they were dealt when their empire was finally overcome and absorbed; most of them have never gotten over the shame of being conquered, whether they are aware of the event itself or not. The clan is a close-knit group, where strength plays a key role in political standing, and sect boundaries tend to not hold much weight. It is no wonder that the population of Brujah in St. John's is high, given that a Plebeian Prince presides; in the maelstrom of class warfare, a city ruled by a Nosferatu is a welcome port for these tireless rebels.
